WEDDING DRESS CARE

A wedding dress is worn for just one day but its’ significance lasts a lifetime. The following information will help you to keep your wedding dress fresh and beautiful…both now and in the years to come.

Before:

  • If possible, keep all care labels that come with the dress. You will need these later.
  • Once you are wearing the dress, try not to apply make up. However, don’t be too concerned about make up or tan stains as they can be treated very successfully.
  • When removing jewellery, be careful not to snag the fabric.

Jackson’s Dry Cleaning and Archiving Process

Your dress will be inspected prior to cleaning to ascertain the most effective treatment for your fabric. We will then manually remove the stains by hand before cleaning your dress. After the cleaning process we will re-inspect your dress and decide if more treatment is needed. Only once we are completely satisfied will we press your dress by hand.

We recommend boxing your dress for storage, ensuring that acid free tissue is used to cover and protect the fabric.

After:

Ideally store your wedding dress in a dark, dust-free area where air can circulate freely. Do not store in a garage, shed or anywhere there is high humidity, dampness or condensation.
